COM12 comes from Helsinki-based artist Twile. His aim is to make music which is intimate yet spacy, intensive yet hazy. It is about combining abstract and melodic elements, in attempt to create spacy, dub-orientated tracks saturated with sadness. The title-track "Chiaroscuro" can be described as a laid-back, ambient-like piece of electronic music. With clear references to the oldschool, "True Bohemian" takes you on a melancholic journey through space and time. This release...

We don't know much. Most of the time we just guess. Our reality isn't the truth. What do we see? What do we hear? What do we perceive? Subconscious and indirect perceptions affect our experience. Like great music is the spaces in between the notes... We invite you to check out the wicked spawn of Phonout's nebulous but inspiring theoretical concepts that translate damn well into juicy electronic music like the four gems you will be definitely enjoying when grabbing this release.

The introductory "The Waiting" features chirring pads, sparingly used dub elements and lets you get acquainted with your companion on this half-hour long journey through emotion, melancholia and passion: Philipp Weigl. "Strangers" comes up with a set of rich pads, a nicely delayed piano pattern and minimal, straight-line beats. Like in "While You're Sleeping", Weigl's voice is skillfully incorporated into mix and arrangement, thus creating a calm but elusive...

Polish artist Ars Deco delivers four calm and playful soundscapes on this EP entitled "Sospesa". The originally very classic compositions with sharp and simple melodies were randomly cut up and put into repetitive frames. Finally, most of the melodic elements were replaced by environmental sounds. File under: deconstructed christmas carols to float away with...

After three months of silence Comatronic is back with 'Hexa' by Munich based artist Joerg Mueller. The six track EP reflects Mueller's pursuit of a certain orientation in terms of musical expression without being bound to a strict concept. Considering 'Hexa' as an experiment, the artist's claim is not to make people dance or relax but to deal with the structure of sounds he seeks expression with. The outcome is a impressively tight and coherent techhouse release that the true heads out there...

Joko13's latest release takes you on a musical journey from 2004 back to 2001. Starting off with the brand new mech-warrior anthem 'Salami Tactics', the Austrian artist once again defines his trademark sound of dark stomping minimal where the specific sound aesthetic is based on the use of digital artifacts and tight repetitive beat structures supply the necessary framework. 'Morphine', a track created in 2002, refers to the same principle and the outcome is a uplifting tech-house tune with a...

With a contempt for conventionality and a love for experimentation, Agent 101 creates music that is electronic yet organic, machine yet human. On Frost, for example, you can forget traditional instruments; this Australian artist conducts an orchestra of fat wet boots crunching through snow, of dark leaky basements, of wind whispering through winter wastelands. Its a lesson in evoking mood. Or check out the anthemic On Top of the World, a track which proves that not only can anything be the...

Number Eight in the Comatronic catalogue comes from Jorge Cortes aka Receptor from South America. The Chilean artist delivers the perfect soundtrack for the last warm days of the year and the end of the summer. Although the tracks are very different from each other and each of them is telling its own story, a certain melancholic mood is prevailing. If you like minimal that works without a four-to-the-floor scheme this release is definitely worth checking out. Enjoy!

We are proud to announce Part 2 of Dataman's minimal techno extravaganza 'Noetik'. This release starts off with the epic bouncer 'Nosologie' which features classic elements from dub - tech and mystic soundscapes that pave the way for the slightly darker arrangements of 'Ethos', a very atmospheric yet driving minimal track. 'Iktus' makes use of a different approach and combines interlaced beat structures with corresponding sound snippets that seem to put the relation between chaos and order in...

Andreas Seibel aka Dataman, who runs a fresh and excellent netlabel called Legoego together with Phonout (Oskar Rudzki), delivers part one of his Noetik series on Comatronic. This release features three oustanding pieces of rock solid minimal techno: the playful and melodious 'Nonsense', the bass - heavy stomper 'Ethik' and the pleasantly disturbing 'Ikeru' with twisted sound textures and a casual swing. Watch out for Dataman - Noetik Pt.2 (COM07) due July 31st 2004. Other netlabel releases by...

After appearing on COM01 - Various Artists - Giants Of Flash, Kuba Connect is back with a solo release on Comatronic. While elements of trance, synthetic sound layers and a phat kicking bass drum are the main ingredients for 'Savant Fou', 'Bonusdub' is dominated by kinda oldschool-ish and classical dub-tech flavours. The title track 'Bin' comes fully packed with uplifting beat patterns, restrained pads, crackles, noises, effects and rhythmic shifts. To put it short: Comatronic stylee to the...

Three beautiful pieces of dub-influenced electronics ranging from minimal house to electro: Delighting pads, thick chords and classic beats are combined with an extensive but nonetheless sophisticated use of delays. The dark pumping title track 'Mesolinear' with its cold and crispy yet still melodious chord patterns is followed by 'Placid States', where the combination of electro grooves, light pads and synths create a beautiful unhurried atmosphere. Finally 'Wintermaer' finishes off this...

Shades of experimental and ambient are accompanied by 4/4 beats on this EP by Ojoruido aka Renzo Peressi from Merida, Venezuela. Minimalistic layers are joining forces with crackling drum patterns, descreet melodies and abstract noises to create either a hypnotic feel (Sasa), a pleasing laidback atmosphere (Resistencia) or a dark and organic sound journey that resembles a trip into the mind of a psychopath (Contacto 260901). Enjoy!

Alright! Comatronic is back with number two in the catalogue: the three tracker 'Success Denied' by Joko13. 'Probe Sixty', a kinda spacy, pleasant and mellow dub tech track with some clicks and bleeps is followed by 'Harter Plateau', a somewhat darker pumping tune with a slightly spooky atmosphere. Track number three is more or less a dj tool (hence the title) and slowly evolves from hip-shaking funkiness to become a driving minimal tech-house stomper. Enjoy!

Introducing the new netlabel Comatronic, this release features three tracks. In the opener track 'Okzober' by Joko13, a hypnotic varying mellow structure is deliberately assisted by a pounding beat. Track 02 introduces the listener to the sound of Radio Magenta who are known for their releases on Keplar. Andreas Heiszenberger remixed the duo's 'Appearance ... Not Disappearance'. Heiszenberger already released on Matthias Schaffhaeuser's well-known label Ware, Eventuell and Normoton. At last...
